Validus Risk Management (Validus), the leading independent financial risk advisory and technology provider for private capital managers, announces the appointment of Amy McIver as a principal in its Fund Finance Advisory team. Her appointment strengthens the firm’s expertise in financing structures across private capital strategies.

Amy joins Validus from Macquarie Asset Management, where she was a managing director and Head of Fund and Structured Capital within its Credit and Insurance business. She brings almost two decades of experience in the industry, including fund finance roles in London and New York as well as an earlier role in specialized investment solutions in Sydney.

Her experience includes originating and structuring secured financing transactions and derivatives for hedge funds and private equity funds. She has worked on asset-backed facilities secured against interests in real estate, infrastructure and private credit funds, as well as bespoke financing backed by investor capital commitments, fund guarantees and fund assets.

Amy joined on 14 September and is based in London, reporting to Gianluca Lorenzon. Validus’ Fund Finance Advisory practice supports private capital managers in developing financing strategies, selecting lenders and executing transactions. The team helps clients assess structures against their investment and operational priorities and coordinates financing processes through to closing.
