Ebix announced two new capabilities for Ebix COI, its next-generation certificate of insurance management platform: Financial Lens, an AI-powered financial prequalification solution, and Integration Hub. Financial Lens draws on established, proven technology trusted by banking and insurance organizations globally to help construction teams assess subcontractor financial stability alongside insurance compliance. Integration Hub connects compliance data to the systems construction teams already use. Together, they support more informed subcontractor qualification, reduce administrative work, and strengthen risk management across the project lifecycle.

For general contractors managing subcontractors across multiple projects, a subcontractor may meet insurance requirements while presenting financial risks that affect its ability to deliver. Disconnected compliance information can also lead to manual status checks, duplicate records, and delays in onboarding or work approvals. Ebix addresses both challenges by adding deeper financial analysis to subcontractor prequalification and connecting compliance intelligence to construction workflows.

"Financial Lens and Integration Hub are important additions to Ebix COI because they take the platform beyond traditional insurance compliance into broader financial and vendor risk management," said Gagan Sethi, CEO of Ebix Technologies. "This allows us to solve more of the risk challenges our clients face and opens a much larger market for Ebix across construction and other industries."

What's New in Ebix COI
The expanded offering helps construction risk, procurement, and project teams evaluate financial stability, connect compliance data, and make more informed subcontractor decisions:

  • AI-Powered Financial Analysis: Financial Lens extracts and analyzes data from subcontractor financial statements, tax returns, and other documents, identifying financial risk indicators while reducing manual review effort.
  • Custom Financial Risk Scoring: Applies organization-defined criteria, including financial ratios, weights, and thresholds, to assess liquidity, leverage, backlog, and other factors relevant to subcontractor qualification.
  • Review & Audit Trail: Supports documented qualification decisions, including risk ratings, waivers, overrides, and reviewer activity, helping teams maintain consistent, auditable reviews.
  • Integration Hub: Connects Ebix COI compliance status, documents, and deficiency alerts to the project management, procurement, and financial systems construction teams already use, eliminating manual status checks and duplicate records and keeping onboarding and work approvals moving.

"Effective subcontractor risk management requires more than verifying insurance coverage. It requires understanding financial stability and ensuring that critical risk information informs operational decisions," said Robert Rodriguez, Chief Technology Officer, Ebix Risk. "Financial Lens adds deeper financial intelligence to the qualification process, while Integration Hub connects compliance information to the systems where work gets done, giving organizations a more complete view of risk and the ability to act before potential exposures escalate."

Beyond Tracking: Managing Subcontractor Risk
Insurance compliance does not end when a certificate is collected. Coverage must be assessed against contract requirements, deficiencies addressed, and compliance maintained as policies and project needs change. With more than 30 years of specialized COI management experience, Ebix combines technology, insurance expertise, and service delivery to support this ongoing work. Ebix currently manages more than 10 million insurance documents a year for nearly 400 active clients.

The broader Ebix COI offering extends beyond certificate tracking through AI-assisted contract analysis, policy and endorsement reviews that surface coverage limitations, and financial prequalification that evaluates subcontractor financial health against defined risk criteria. Expert-managed services add insurance specialist verification, deficiency follow-up, renewal management, and ongoing oversight. Customers can choose self-managed workflows or fully managed services tailored to their needs.
